Picupnews is an independent, bilingual news service that follows the world’s most widely reported stories around the clock and publishes them in English on picupnews.com and in Turkish on tr.picupnews.com.
What we cover
We focus on international news that matters to readers in many countries: conflicts and diplomacy, elections and government decisions, the global economy and energy markets, major disasters, and significant developments in science and technology. Our selection deliberately leaves out celebrity gossip, product launches and shopping deals, and opinion pieces presented as news.
How our stories are produced
Picupnews is built on an automated editorial system, and we want to be transparent about how it works:
- Story selection. Eight times a day – every three hours – the system reviews the latest headlines from major international news feeds and ranks stories by how many independent outlets are covering them. The most significant story that we have not already covered in the past 24 hours is selected.
- Research. For the selected story, the system gathers the latest reporting from several sources so that the article is based on more than a single account of events.
- Writing. The article is written with the help of AI language models, under strict instructions: stay on the facts reported by the sources, do not add unrelated information, and report the story as current news.
- Images. Story images are AI-generated editorial illustrations inspired by the setting of the event. They are not photographs, they are designed not to show recognisable real people, and every article carries a note saying so.
- Both languages. The same story is published in English and in Turkish, so readers of both editions follow the same agenda.
Each selected story is reported to the editor responsible for content, who monitors the system and corrects or removes content when errors are found.
Corrections
Automated reporting can make mistakes. If you spot an error in one of our stories, please write to info@picupnews.com with the link to the article. We review every report and correct the article as quickly as possible.
