Hello dear readers! The world of technology is advancing at a breathtaking pace. As we step into 2025, our cities, our lives, and even the future of our planet are taking shape thanks to projects supported by the European Union and the research of the world’s leading scientists. Close your eyes and think for a moment: Solar energy transmitted wirelessly from space, artificial intelligence shedding light on the unknown about the human brain, and self-healing living bridges… Here are the footsteps of 2025!
Artificial Intelligence and the Mystery of the Brain: Is the Big Question Being Answered?
A giant step is being taken at the intersection of medicine and technology in 2025. The Human Brain Project, carried out with the support of the European Union, is preparing to create a genetic map of our brain. In this study, led by Prof. Dr. Katrin Amunts from the University of Düsseldorf in Germany, the connections between the brain’s 86 billion nerve cells are being examined. The goal? Opening new doors for the treatment of neurological diseases!
Prof. Amunts explains how AI helps us understand this complex network: “With the JUPITER supercomputer, which will be operational in 2025, we will be able to simulate the effects of treatments on the brain.”
What does this mean? More precise brain surgeries, tumor localization, and even more effective treatments for diseases like Alzheimer’s could be possible.
Energy from Space to Earth: Not Science Fiction, But Reality!
Greek technology company Future Intelligence has accelerated its projects to wirelessly transmit solar energy from space to Earth. We are now bolder to say that this dream will become a reality in 2025.
Effie Makri, Vice President of R&D at Future Intelligence, says that this technology will radically change not only the energy sector, but also many areas from agriculture to banking. Europe’s Galileo and Copernicus satellite programs provide a strong infrastructure for such projects. It’s not for nothing that we say, “Our energy future is being written here!”
Self-healing Bridges: A Miraculous Step
Another interesting project carried out at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands is the construction of self-healing living bridges. Dr. Kunal Masania and his team are trying to develop these structures with composite materials made from fungal cells. These materials can repair themselves when they detect mechanical stress! We will see these materials spread to wider areas of use in 2025.
Greener and Livable Cities:
Dr. Annemie Wyckmans from the Norwegian University of Technology and Science aims to increase the green areas of cities under the leadership of local communities. This movement, which started with city gardens, is combined with the New European Bauhaus initiative to open the door to cities that are both aesthetic and sustainable.
Conclusion:
2025 will be the year of developments led by science and technology that will make cities greener, life easier and the future brighter. All these projects come to life thanks to the strong support of the European Union and the research passion of universities. It seems that we should be ready to witness revolutionary changes in 2025.
